No pics yet. I'm going to start building the stand for it next weekend I'll be putting my EBJD, BGJD, pair of cons, and 9 giant danios into the tank. What else could I put in the tank? It's 48L26Wx26H. Could I put some pictus cats? How many? Would any other cichlids work? All the cichlids that will be going into the tank are still small. 3inches tops.

that's a nice set up i like it, u could keep other medium size cichlids there too like firemouth or cutteri . just keep in mind how big JD can get and have enough hiding places for the smaller cichlids. NOt sure about the pictus cat but i think it'll b ok just remember they grow up to 12" so I would suggest 1 or 2 max depending on what else u decide to put in there. oh and also the more fish u put the better filtration and more wc u need GL

Thank you Alexanian! I don't really like the firemouths and I'll have to do more research on the cutteri. Does anyone else have any other suggestions for me? I'm open to other non-cichlids too

Pair of cons? Do you have plans for the fries? Otherwise they will over run your tank.

The plan for the convict fry is to supplement my BGJD pair and some of my mom's cichlids/turtle.

What kind of medium catfish?

Synodontis ocellifer if you don't mind African...or maybe some medium sized fancy plecos or regular shovel nose(not TSN); or a school of clown loaches(not catfish)...
