So, I currently have a 8-9" Managuensis, 8" JD, and 7-8" Venny pike living in a 55 gallon tank. Since my Managuensis is trying to dominate the other two fish in my tank, and the fact that everytime I post on here everyone is like "ZOMG tank too small!!!!!11!1!1!) I decided to do some upgrading.

First, let me say large tanks are effin expensive. I bought a 150 gallon oceaninc with bulkheads and overflows and a 50 gallon chambered tank thingy that goes below.

I filled the 150 and the 45 hex on Tuesday with gravel, water, heaters, etc. I then took one of my nasty AquaClear 70's out of my established 55 gallon and put it on the 150 to get some little critters floating around in thar. I also took a powerhead off and put it in the 45 hex for the same purpose. Yesterday, tested the water on both tanks and it was ok, so I put a small red-tail shark in the 150, and a dozen neon tetras in the 45 hex.

The fish were still alive this morning and I fed them and they are eating and appear healthly.

Question 1: How long should I wait before moving my three large fish into the 150?

Question 2: Will my little red-tail shark survive once I do?

Question 3: Am I forgetting something? I suck, sorry.

I would say if you already tested the water you're self and it came out good? You should have NO probs!!

You DO NOT want ammonia in the new tank.

You did great by using some of the old muck filth stuff. It will cycle a tank in no time.

I just did a tank and in 12 hrs it was already cycled! LOL

Shark should be fine! And again if the water tests are good? Add every one in! Be sure to acclimate them to the new tank too.

Oh you do have heat right?

Yep, tank is setting at 79 degrees thanks to two marineland stealth shatterproof heaters.

Thanks! I was really hoping that if I added my old filthy filters/power head it would cycle the tank good!

Great temp too! I did my 75 sooo fast!! I used two older established filters, some gravel and water from another tank. Makes them go so fast!

Those Stealths are my next to buy!
