I currently have a 55 gallon growout tank in which there is:
8x baby SD
3x baby tinfoil barb (soon to be 6)
5x tiger barb
2x baby dinosaur bichir
2x baby african brown knife
1x baby peacock eel
2x baby hifin spotted pleco (will sell one in future)
1x baby common pleco (possibly sell in future)
1x baby rubbernose pleco (possibly sell)
1x baby pictus cat
1x needlenose gar
1x syno multi (maybe 2 more in future)

I feel like I'm forgetting something but maybe not. I'm buying a 150 tomorrow and I'm wondering: if I just transfer all these fish, when they grow to adulthood will it be overstocked? I know right now I'm wayyy overstocked but I added about 10 of the fish recently because I knew I was getting the 150. I'm thinking I'll leave the plecs, dinos, pictus, and tinfoils in the 55 until they add a few more inches but when they do move over? If so what should I sell/definitely not add? Thanks in advance!!!

It will be overstocked. Your going to need some major filtration for that tank with all the plecos. The tiger barbs will probly get killed. U have 2 types of schooling fish and the tinfoil barbs get big around 8 inches. The dino eel is really called a senegal bichir and they can hit anywhere from 8-16 inches. I'd say dump the tinfoils and a2 of the plecos and the tiger barbs. The one fish you really like is a centerpiece fish. Add a gold severum

i would suggest getting rid of the 3 large plecos and keeping the rubber nose....dont get the tinfoils you already have schooling fish (silver dollars).

i wouldnt house the larger species of aggressive plecos with bichirs they will eat their slime coat

I have a similar 55 grow out waiting to be divided into a 120 and 150.

My Stock:
1 Firemouth
1 Peacock eel
1 Senegal bichir
4 Tinfoil Barbs (get alot bigger than 8" more like 12-14")
1 Pictus Cat
1 Black Ghost Knife Fish

right now my tank looks correctly stocked since they are all still young but the stock you have is awesome but unhealthy. It probably looks awesome though.

IMO I would ditch either the SD or tinfoils, and common pleco(by ditch i mean sell or give away)

Keep 55 stock with: 1 Knife, Pictus Cat and Tiger Barbs and rubber pleco(up filtration)

Stock 150 with the rest

again, just my opinion.

PS: do you find yourself not being able to find the Peacock most of the time?

Pictus cats like to school so i would get ride of him or add 3. the plecos you might just want 1 or none if you dont mind wiping the the glass off. And i would stick with one school fish for the top be the SD or the tinfoil barbs.

@eatingleg4peanut
I haven't seen him since i bought him. He's either living under the gravel or dead under it. Lol. Not really funny. In the 150 i'm buying there are a few fish i may or may not keep including another peacock. What's weird is this one doesn't burrow at all. He chills above the gravel.
