Okay, so I just bought a 15Og tank with stand, hood, light and moonlights for $300. :headbang2 So now I will be putting my severum, red bay snook and nicaguense (nobody bigger than 8 in.) in the new tank. So I have a couple of questions since this is the largest tank I've owned yet. I will most likely add a couple of tank mates.

First, what is the deal with sumps? I really don't have any experience with them and don't fully understand how they work. I have a 29g sitting around...is it worth building one? How much would it cost?
Or should I just buy a Fluval Fx5?

Second, what kind of lighting would people recommend? I'd like to get some plants, especially floating.

Thanks for all the help!;)

goin with the fx5 would be the easiest route.. pack it with media, plug and chug.. then youre set.. you could also go with a wet/dry system. on the other hand you could go with a wet dry system, which is probably the better option in biological filtration. check the stickies on wet/drys theyre very helpful. ill let the experts chime in though.. im stil a newbie tool.

Anybody?....Come on people, anything helps!

i think a large cannister is great.....i would add a rio type pump for current and probaly run an air tube with the rio type for lots of bubbles.

My son runs that on his 110 and its been great for three years....was two fluvals now one fx5
