Hi MFK. Im getting a 160g from my uncle. I want to make it ca/sa setup with driftwood and some rocks and maybe some plants like java fern and amazon sword.

Anyway the filtration will consist of my old whisper ex70 and emp 400. Also ill be buying a fluval fx5 and maybe an eheim 2217. Is this enough

Now the fish:
Green terror x1
Jack dempsey x1
Severum x1
Texas x1
firemouth x2
clown loach x5
bristlenose pleco x3

Ill prob be buying the loaches first to grow them out then buy all the other fish as juvies. I already have the JD so he is done.

Would these fish work out. I know about individual fish but would u see problems?

Any help in making my :naughty:dream:naughty: come true would be great

Sound's like my 75 gal, wood and plenty java. I got a 2217 filtering it and water is crystal clear.

Should do fine, just keep an eye on the Tex when larger

CL take forever to grow, I would try to buy 4-5" specimens to start off with. Otherwise, sounds a good stock!

Awesome! This tank will look good. I was wondering what are your concerns on having a firemouth pair in the tank. I know they get aggressive during breeding but since the tank is so large it could probably work? Also the clown loaches and plecos could eat the eggs so no problems.

I don't really want to breed, i just want to see their breeding colors and behaviour:D

The Firemouths are going to be the whipping boys of your tank (unless they pair up). Keep an eye on them and make sure they aren't the only ones being harrassed. I would suggest introducing them early on in the stocking phase so they have a chance to become established.
Glad you decided to go this route. If the Texas becomes a problem you could always sub him out for a Tiger Oscar since they are just big bullies to fish that can't do anything about it. If you decide you want more movement in the tank a group of 5-6 silver dollars would be nice as well. Good luck with the tank!

Sounds good but I'd try and get a larger Sev, as they are the most peaceful of your stock, and may be picked on.

yeah just keep a eye on him.

Thats good to hear. But i have a bit of a problem. i bought the JD and the texas already out of excitement but i have only my 55g mbuna for them. Probably next week ill return the mbuna so the cichlids can have their space. But until next week, can they live in a 6x12 inch space in the tank separated by a divider together?

The JD is very peaceful but idk if it will work out for a week or so?

if the Texas cichild is cause a problem get rid of him.
