My new 180 gallon is ready to go. It is running on a megaflow 4 sump filtration system. I have an 8 inch male jaguar that I got from a friend who is tolerant of tankmates and a 7 inch pleco. I would love some suggestions from people on how they would stock the tank. Thanks in advance.

8" male Jaguar who is tolerant of tankmates......for now. Introducing another cichlid into a tank after a Parachromis species has been introduced is dicey @ best. I have a 10" male Jag in a 125GL by himself....& I can assure you he would kill anything I would introduce into that tank, & not just cichlids.

I've been doing this for 30 years and am very aware of what jags do sometimes. I also had a 15 inch male jag in a 125 with tankmates peacefully for 8 years. I've always had very good luck in large tanks with jags and tankmates. Their aggression although real is overrated in my opinion. I'm looking for suggestions on tankmates. My other tanks can handle any issues.

If Jag is a main fish then I would get some dither fishes that fast and strong enough to withstand Jag bully and large enough so Jag can't eat it...For me I would add some tinfoil barbs and watch my jag chase them around :D

I'm thinking 4-6 cichlids. The jag could be the center, but I'm not opposed to another centerpiece.
