im looking at keeping jd's gt's fm's
not looking for pairs
what other fish can i keep with these and how many fish could i keep in the same tank as them?
i think i will also keep dithers (maybe danios/silver dollar/barbs not sure)
any opinions and advice is greatly appreciated?

jaguar, texas, salvini, midas, festae,... you have a good bit of options with a 180. Me personally, I would try and go for some of the less common guys like any vieja or paratheraps (pearsi, zonatum, argentea), or a red tiger motag. Lots of different ways you can go, check out what Rapps has and see if what you like.

im in australia so a rapps order isnt gonna be an option
veija are hard to come by but i did see some synspilum
will veija exist with those fish?

Id say get some salvini won't be disappointed. They have very nice color and max out a 10". I think the red terror, jaguar and midas are much to agressive and their territorys will be much larger. Ever consider bichers? Fire Eel? Catfish?
Synspilum veija would be a good choice. Do you like severums or chocolate cichlids? Texas would work too.

Hey Lach

I think the Firemouth may be a little out of his league. Try silver dollars as dithers as they've worked out great in my set up and look at salvini, Blackbelt or even a Texas to mix things up a little.

yes i likeseerumsbut would rather have texas and gts
soif i go with a tex gt jd salvini and synsphilum i should be fine right?

That sounds like a good mix if you get the right fish with the right personalities. It may take a few goes but don't give up.

Good Luck

Dave
