New 2" FH Asking for aid

I just got this guy a day ago, and I'm really curious about his behaviour. all of the frys they had at the lfs seemed to be just as aggressive as this one, only thing i'm curious about is everytime i get near he starts to stress. So i'm wondering if its me, possibly my water parameter?? temp is at 80-82?? planning to upgrade the setup for him by adding in a few things to make it more home but could somebody let me know if i'm doing anything wrong? I grabbed the sumo to feed him, and i've been feeding him that including a cricket from yesterday also. IS there anything flowerhorns prefer for their home? thanks

I think he just needs some time to settle in. He'll be finger chasing you begging for food in no time. Check your parameters for ammonia if your feeding him alot.

Agreed give him time to settle in, this is not unusual behavior.

he probly would be more comfortable if he has some where to hide just my opinion

Thank you all for your input. Theres a small piece of drift wood but perhaps thats not fit for him. I will take care of this

don't worry about hiding spots, they won't use them eventually. They are pretty active fish. like others said, it's just settling in.

Can I suggest a tankmate? If it turns out to be a male, find a female & same for the opposite. I use blood parrots to quickly settle in new flowerhorns.

Yes! Thanks haha I really wanted a tank mate for Him, (I believe) Here's how he is now, though the stripes still show faintly even though he seems to be swimming like a champ
