i am also getting a 180g tank in a few days and i am really thinking of getting a stingray. ive read so much info already on the (like i do with ALL my fish before i get them) and i think i've made up my mind
also how many people have put oscars with a sting i have wondered if i should even try to house them together or not

Welcome aboard, Dan. . I know you were eager to become a full member. Normally under such circumstances, we'd require you to post everything in such a thread under 1 post, instead of 5. To get to your question, I would not keep a ray with oscars. While I've known some people to do so, I hear of many more horror stories where ray's get picked on by the oscars, most notably, the eyes and tails being bitten off. There are many threads here
that pertain to successful and unsuccessful tankmates for rays.
More than the tankmate issue, you should really familiarize yourself with the acclimation and husbandry of a ray. Feel free to ask questions before you buy. That's what we're here for.
