I've only had him for around 48hrs. He is around 2 inches. It came via mail order. I have tried bloodworms (frozen), frozen krill, frozen brine shrimp, baby hikari gold pellets. All with no interest whatsoever. What should I do??? This is my first peacock bass. He's currently in my quarantine tank (only 20G) but will eventually end up in my grow out tank then, (i hope) in my 425 after he grows out. Thanks for any suggestions!

That is if baby guppies are small enough. If not.. Try to QUICKLY find either guppy FRY (generally not available at LFS) or live blackworms. One of the two would hopefully do the trick.

I'm not having any luck finding either live black worms or baby guppies. Really worried this guy will starve before I can overnight some by tues.

That sucks man.. Petsmart has guppy fry sometimes. If you're lucky. They normally just give them away too.

Keep trying to bloodworms... but be sure to take out what is uneaten.

Update... I found live brine shrimp. Put a few in tank and whola! Little guy started snapping them up immediately!!! Didn't eat a lot, but at least its a start. Thanks for all the input.

i dont think a 2 inch mono will take anything that isnt alive... get gupies or black worms( live) i garentee he eats it

He won't eat guppies if they're too big!

I have seen smaller pbass eat non live.. But not often. You just have to get lucky to get one that does.

My pbass are around the same size if not smaller and they will eat the smaller guppies, and they are getting a taste for blood worms and seem to like them after 3 days now (frozen blood worms) I also have a very hard time finding guppies, and live black worms.. expecially in the winter.
