Hi all, I decided I had enough of my Powershot S10 which served me really well for a long time, but now I purchased a 20D and can't wait to get back in control of a camera like when using my Dad's old Nikkormat (sp?) stuff.
I took a short ride to Echo Lake in Mountainside, NJ last weekend and snapped off a few just starting to get used to all these extra features. Holy moly...lots more than the old Nikon I played with a few years back.
Guess you still need ND filters and such and that with all the wonders of digital, all the old stuff still applies. No surprise there since we can't change physics (yet).
I've got the "thrifty fifty" (50 1.8 II) as I've heard it called coming soon and most likely the Tamron 28-75 2.8 will follow soon after. The kit lens just doesn't even feel right to me.
And looks like I need a 580EX or two soon as well.
I have a few pics from my old S10 here: http://www.geocities.com/jhoetzl/
Found this little gem of a site because of my interest in Aquariums, and photog in general.
And while I know Jay, he nevered mentioned this site at a NJAS meeting (did you Jay?)
Look forward to reading and seeing more on here.
Regards,
-Joe
