i just got a 20g tank running yesterday. I took enough gravel out of my 90g to put a decent layer on the bottom of the 20. The power filter thats on the 20 luckily will accept an emperor style filter pad. So, i take a filter out of one of my emperor 400s thats been running for like 6 months and and i know is wrapped up in bb and put in the 20g tanks filter. It seems to me like this would be ready to accept a Convict, and i have the perfect candidate on standby:). Any suggestions? As always, any help will be greatly appreciated.

I’ve cycled tanks using the same process as you just have.

I would start off with just one fish in that tank. Check your water parameters daily to make sure the BB in there can keep up with the bioload. If the levels get our of range, complete a large water change. If every goes well, after two or three weeks add the rest of your fish slowly (one at a time, every week or two) to allow your BB to grow to handle the additional bioload

thanks for the reply man. Well, i guess ill drop one in:)
