Just had an Aqueon 210 delivered. Once we removed all of the cardboard, we found a glass splinter. Pictures attached.

I don’t think this compromises the tank. It is a difficult path to deliver the tank from my driveway to my basement and I don’t want to ask them to replace it - but also don’t want 210 gallons of water on the floor. Looking for experienced input. Thanks.

Very little to no risk here. I have worse dents in some of my tanks that have seen years of service. The only problem for me would be that it's a brand new tank and you are entitled to a mint tank on delivery. So it's really just an issue of weighing the hassle of returning the tank vs. Overlooking the minor damage.

If it's me I would contact the seller and discuss the possibility of a partial refund/discount on the tank. They may offer up something agreeable right away, especially if you purchased from a larger company.

agreed. They already gave me free glass tops and offered a discount / credit which I’m inclined to take. Thanks for the response.

This is what I would do. Best case scenario they replace the tank and leave the current tank because it's to big of a hassle to remove and rework the old tank, so you end up with 2!

now that I’ve had a chance to really look, I found this gap in the silicone. It’s about 1/4 inch deep on the outside of a 3/4 inch seam. I know the easy answer is to have them replace it - I just would prefer to avoid it if this is a relatively common issue and the physics say I’m safe.

Same level of concern, same remedy in my opinion. That may be where they had a spacer for the seam when building the tank. While not egregious, it is shoddy, but well within the realm of what can be expected from a mass produced tank imo (unfortunately)

What are the tank dimensions? Is this a 72x24x30 or 84x24x24? And what is the thickness of the glass panels?

It’s 72x24x30. Glass is 3/4 inch think.
As much as I wanted to be nice and not have them do the labor twice, this was too much. They told me they would inspect the tank prior to delivery and this is the most reputable shop in my area. Paid the slight premium to buy there - and this is why. They are doing the right thing.
