I tried a sample area with a porter cable random orbital car buffer and chemical guys polishing compound. Results look pretty good with little time invested. Not sure who built the tank but I’m going to need to make lids for the top out of something. Still not sure how I want to finish the stand, maybe some kind of a natural stone tile? Or just basic black painted. For stocking I have a 7” ORB male in another tank now would like to get a female maybe a marble motoro or black Diamond thousand island, hybrid who knows. Will have some time and work ahead before it’s running but the footprint of this thing is sweet!

Thanks Was 700, stock plans rays of some type. I have a 8” orb male that will probably end up in it and would really like a leo or leo hybrid female. Anyone ever tile a stand? Some type of a natural stone looking tile would be cool I think. Not sure what I will do for lids either. Would like to run it without a canopy if I can come up with an attractive lid.

See the thing is it's a great demension but that middle overflow is gonna be what's makes it awkward for the rays. Is there anyway you can remove the box and move it to a corner? That way you'll have full tank space awesome tank btw

That sounds like a great tank but the middle overflow isn't ideal for rays and do you have plans to upgrade them or sell them when they get to big

Nice tank but for rays I would glue over the weir and drill a few bulkheads at the top on the rear and run the sump that way..it won't be big enough for a fully grown Leo though.

Made some progress on the build will be getting some plastic shims today and getting it leveled up. Planning on putting some quarter round trim around the stand to hide the foam. Still not totally satisfied with the polish job on acrylic...how much will water hide? Looking for ideas on lids/canopy as well, as you can see on one side there isn’t much height room for a canopy. Can’t wait to get water in it!
