I'm newish here I've been following MFK for several years now following various threads, learning and getting ideas but have never posted before.
I've just purchased a new 250g Tank 6' L x 2' W x 2.5' H which is a going to be fish only.
I've mostly kept turtles of all shapes, sizes and breeds and I've had a various tank sizes before but I have only ever kept fish in a 75g tank for the past couple years.
My current tank holds the following:
2x Snakeskin Gourami (5" size)
3x Earth Eaters (5" size)
2x Arulius barb (3" size)
2x Banded Severum (6" size)
1x Common Pleco (10" size)
6x Blue Rainbows (1" size)
These will obviously be moving in to the 250g, But what other fish would you recommend for the 250g tank?
I'm thinking I'm going to try and have a fairly planted tank with one or two large pieces of bogwood with hardy low light plants planted in a mixture of a plant substrate (eco-complete) with a Sand layer on top, as this has worked for me in the past.
I'm going to add to the rainbows and have a nice school of approx 20 but other then that I'm not sure where to go.
I would like to have maybe a couple of large interesting fish if possible. I'm thinking maybe knifefish and a Fire Eel and also later down the line I would love to add ether a Retic of Hystrix ray into the tank.
Let me know thoughts I'm open to all Ideas and suggestions.
