well sometime this week i will be getting a 300 gallon pre-formed pond from my dad that i plan on setting up in my house. he used it to keep his couple koi in for the winter but now he is moving and sold all of his koi so i get the pond for free. my question is he had a cheap 1000gph pump with a little box that holds just filter pad will this be okay for 3 oscars or should i add a fx5? this just needs to hold me over for a few months until i can start my 4000 gallon indoor pond project can i get away with the cheap filter for a while?
