Hello world!

Long time lurker first time poster. Thinking about the next tank and I want it to be the end all of tanks for me (don't want to keep upgrading!)

It's going to be a 300G (96L x 30W x 24H). Will plan on having 3x Fluval FX6 filters.

Plan for stock will be...
12 Denison barbs
3x pink tail chalceus
1x flag tail Prochilodus
2x electric blue jack Dempsey
2x red spot gold Severum
2x satanoperca leucosticta
2x geophagus winemilleri
1x synodontus granulosus
1x royal pleco
1x vampire pleco
1x titanic pleco

A couple of questions for those of you with much more experience than me...!

1. Any glaring errors with that group of fish?
2. Will they be distributed well in the water column? I feel it's a tad bottom heavy but I always seem to end up this way. Bottom dwellers are so great!
3. Stocking too heavy?
4. Do any of the cichlids need to be in larger groups? I chose a bunch of 2x to have more variety but don't want to compromise general happiness if they need to be in a small group of 5 or more... I have a feeling the two sets of eartheaters might need more than just two, which would mean I'd only go for one of the two species if that's for the best.
5. Would I have adequate filtration or do I need a large sump with a wet and dry?

Thanks so much for your attention and help!

I'd double either of the eartheaters and do 1 or the other. Are flagtail ok with plecos? Can't remember if that mix works or not.

Just make sure those roselines are too big for your JD's to eat (when you get them). My JD loved to eat live mosquitofish, and even my severums got some.

EB blue acaras would be just fine though.

Yeah thought that might be the case... now just gotta figure out which set of eartheaters I'm gonna like better! Tough choices haha.

Regarding the flag tail never heard of problems with plecos but then again I haven't read up on that fish all that much yet! Anybody have any experience with this?

Yes definitely gonna get those Denison barbs extra plump before mixing in the rest :) probably will start with the Denison barbs first.

Thought about the acara but they are a bit on the small side. Aside from the Denison barbs I wanted everything to be around 10 to 12 inches for a uniform feel.

I'd choose Winemilleri, but I am bias. Also, if you haven't checked the G. Dicrozoster, they are nice as well. I just added a group of 4 to my 220.

That's an awesome looking fish! Thank you!

May I ask what bottom dwellers you have in your 220G?

And how many eartheaters of a certain species do you think would be minimum to have an ideal population.
