Hey guys, besides working on a monster tank for Gars, P-Bass, and Black Diamond Piranhas...I also got a 29 Gallon.

It's been cycling for quite a few days and it's ready for inhabitants. I have LOTS of rock in there. Tons of nooks and crannies...everywhere. I don't deal with live plants, but I might also put in plastic/silk plants as well.

The rocks are a combination of what I found in my neighborhood. The entrance to my street has 2 gigantic rock waterfalls, so I picked up some of those rocks. I also go some river rock as well as some landscaping pebbles (fairly large). As I said above, lots of caves, holes, and hiding places. I made sure to have a balance of bigger holes and smaller holes.

So what do you guys suggest? Please, if you could, let me know any and all suggestions; common names please, I have not learned my African Cichlids yet.

A little about the setup:
Tank:30g Aquarium - 30"x14"x18"
Filter: 1 x Topfin 30 & 1 x Penguin 350
Heater: Marineland
Decor: 50+ Pounds of rock

Thanks in advanced!

What do you guys think about the following scenarios of fish for my 30 gallon:

Scenario #1:
Johanni
Yellow Lab
Aurauts

Scenario #2:
Peacocks/Haps; Various

I'm leaning towards the Scenario #1 more because the fish are smaller and I have the tank set up to their needs; lots of rocks, caves, and hiding places.

Suggestions or comments will be appreciated.

in a 29 no auratus or johanni orv kenyi unless its a breeding pair trio or a single

i would do 1m 2f yellow labs and 1m 2f acei

MAX then upgrade if neccesaary

Scenario numero dos would be too small for haplochromines. Scenario numero uno is better but not best. If you used it as a growout it will work.

ikevi gave you the perfect link to the best setups with a 29.

Well guys I decided what to get. I read several resources on here and other places I found. The best resource, however, was meeting someone that has been doing this for years. Met him off www.Aquabid.com

So here is what Im going to stock the 30g with:
5 x Aulonocara stuartgranti

2 x
Labidochromis sp. "Mbamba" (Breeding pair)

Thanks again to those who have helped. Pics will be up tomrrow after I put them in the tank!
