new 40 gallon and dont know what to do with it

hi, i just set up a 40 gallon and i dont know what to do with it, as far as what fish to put in it, i dont want anything to difficult to take care of, but id like a predatory fish, i was think of getting a ornate bichir or a jaguar fish, but im not sure, any suggestions? also, the fish has to not bother my 2 peacock eels

40g is too small for a jaguar cichlid. The only bichir I'd place in that tank is Polypterus senegalus or Polypterus delhezi. Replace one of your peacock eels with either of the two.

I'd do as Lupin suggested and perhaps get some congo tetras and african butterfly fish to take up other parts of the tank
