New 40 gallon severum home

Tank- Aqueon 40 gallon Breeder
1x 65watt satellite
1x 40 watt satellite
Aquaclear hang on filtration

Stock-
1x Gold Severum
2x redgold severum
5x green barbs
7x rummy nose teras
5x otocinclus
1x juvenile convict cichlid
1x bumblebee cat

From what I read Severums can be hard to sex until spawning. Any experts here that could suggest the sex?

Nice tank, I have one of those 40 gallon breeder too and they're great. Nice Severums too, though I'm not sure how the sexing works. Good luck though.

sexing has to do with facial markings but i dont noe how to distinguish

Yeah im having trouble finding good descriptions online on how to sex these guys but I have heard of that before.

My lfs ordered me a rotkeil too! I can pick him up in a couple days, anyone kept these?

they look good but you're gonna need to cut it back to a pair once they get some size on them.

males will have facial markings while females won't. it is harder with golds and reds. there is a thread over on the cichlid-forum.com about a red with nice facial markings that laid eggs the other day. i'd venture to say the first one posted, the gold, is a female.

I hope mine look this nice someday. Is that last one a green sev? I love the rotkeil! I am worried however, the one my lfs ordered for me is considerably smaller than the rest of my sevs. we will see how it works out.
