Setting up a 55 gallon in the near future. I will eventually get a 125gal but I'm moving in about 18 months and don't want to deal with setting up and then tearing down such a huge tank so quickly.

I'd like 1 or 2 large and interesting fish. Keeping in mind that the fish will be sold or moved to a larger tank in 18 months, what would you suggest?

Any advice? Oscar? Jack Dempseys? Convicts?

Like I said I'm looking for maybe 2 largish fish that will only stay in the 55gal for about 18 months.

Thanks.

The tetra idea is cool but not really my thing. Maybe I'll go with the Jacks and a school of smaller fish.

I like the idea of a male/female pair of cons. Once they start breeding they are a lot of fun to watch. They interact with eachother and are always busy.
