I am thinking I want to have one fish that is big. I am just started cycling the tank so I have a little time. I saw a post mention a 'few' pirahna (sp?). Are there any suggestions? I was told about a central or S. American Cichlids but I can't remember what it was. Silver with a black stripe when little. Other suggestions welcome.

View attachment 403188welcome... to MFK.. before you make a move to purchase a fish, start a thread in one of the forums of the species of fish that most interest you.. this way you will get all the needed info to make your decision rather then just plunge in and get the fish that may not thrive in the conditions you offer... talk aabout it.. and you will get lots of pics.. you will know everything you need to know before you purchase... this way it will go smooth...good luck...nice meeting you..have any questions just ask me...

Hello and Welcome!

if you go with rahnas you could only have like 3 of them max depending on the species. if you do go with them, get a more aggressive species or they're going to be boring.

Welcome to MFK. Well, I haven't researched this at all but I heard that two female angels are really good center fish, and you could put some smaller fish to fill in the gaps.

Also, I wouldn't go with piranhas unless you get a very large tank and can keep a good school of about 8-12.
