New 55G tank

I was looking around craigs list and found a 55G tank and stand for sale. They were asking $175 but I talked them down to $75. They just want to get rid of it. Its 3 hour travel just to get up there and 3 back. The tank holds water and the stand isnt the nicest but its sturdy. I will end up building my own stand for it to match my 150G tank. Do you guys think this is a great deal or what? I still cant figure out what to put in it.:nilly:

not great when you factor in the gas.how far is the nearest petsmart or walmart?you can get brand new for less than 150 with lights and tops, since you dont want their stand anyway its not worth it.

Yea, especially since they had a 55 with accessories for 50 in our paper 2 weeks ago.

A private seller, not petsmart.
 
i just grab a 55g cherry oak finish with matching stand(REALLY NICE SHAPE) and everything but fish,gravel,decor for $100. It was in a dentist office for 2 years, then he moved away and didnt want to take the tank, so he gave it to his mom and she put it in the paper to get rid of it. everything runs great, just got new starters and bulbs and going to sell for $250.
 
im in Northwest Arkansas the tank was about 5 minutes from my apartment. its a really good tank, you could always drive down and buy it. only about a 5 hour drive from omaha to NW Arkansas.
