In my fish tanks.
hey guys what do you think of my new 60 gallon setup. i think i spent less than 100 to get it altogether.
this is how its started for 20 bucks with 2 penguin 350 bio wheel filters, 4 cheap heaters

any comments feel free negative or positive doesnt matter. any adivse on what else to add. im going to get a fluval and a better heater tomorrow from andy.
im going to put one baby aro and when it gets big enough ill switch out my 120 to fresh n this 60 to salt.

Cool man. I really would drain it and get a proper stand though. Glass tanks only need support on their four corners. It appears that sheet of wood simply wont cut it I would drain the tank and at least put up some solid corner supports. Otherwise a great setup and one hell of a deal,.

ill put 4 2x4 on each corner its going to look funky but i dont have time to build a stand. i dont plan on buying one i want to build one. thanks for the heads up =) hopefully by tomorrow my aro's should be in there already.

i have one question tho i have a ph test kit and it dye is the red stuff anyone know the color chart thingy. i forgot all of these things. =)
the feeders have been alive since day 1 of the setup. i also added 6 tsp of AmQuel.
im going to get that NOva stuff for the water coating and a co2 thingy for the plant. you think that would help water quality?

YA I AGREE , I WOULD GET A BETTER PLACE FOR IT TO SIT ON. MAYBE A BIGGER LIGHT. SO IT LIGHTS UP ALL OF THE TANK. ARE YOU GONNA PUT AN ROCK OR SAND ON THE BOTTOM?

yeah i think ill build that stand asap then. im going to put sand on just enough for the all the stuff to settle in. im going to get 40 pounds of some regular sand or whatever it is sand ? gravel? the small ones but not to thin like saltwater sand. silver n jardini lol i just hope they wont kill each other or i might have to start another 60 gallon lol =)

I like the way it looks. Besides the stand/support I think you are alright. New lights isn't really neccessary unless you are planning to grow plants, or you just don't like the way it looks right now. I personally like tanks that don't look like they have a spotlight on them. Having light in the middle, and slight darkness on the sides looks nice to me.

Good luck with whatever you decide. ;)

thanks. yeah i like the middle light with a little darkness on the sides.
heres an update first aro in. silver aro 13" $35
