I want to set up a 75 gallon aquarium with some larger sized cats. I've looked into Red tails, tiger shovelnoses, lima shovelnoses, etc... Do any of these work?? I know my pet shop sells 2 inch red tails but i know they tend to grow really big. I'm just kinda looking for a nice catfish that can take feeders and such that can get a decent size. THANKS!

My advice would be to stay away from the RTC and TSN, they both grow massive (>4') and will eat you out of house and home. They require dedication to keep, as well as enormous living quarters. If you want a catfish that will take feeders that will fit into your tank, have a look at Pimelodus ornatus, Chaca chaca and Asterophysus batrachus.

How much do chaca chacas cost usually? I just can't afford $200 for a gulper lol Do the Lima Shovelnose get big like the tiger shovelnose? I thought i heard that they are smaller or dont grow as fast.

i think lima would be perfect for you tank setup. you can prolly get away with a lima in there for years if not for life
