iim setting up a new 75 freshwater tank and wondering monster i can put in there that wont get to big for the tank. i really want a rtc but i know thats way to big. any suggestions.... thanks!:naughty:

Good question! A single Oscar would be cool but they're better kept as a pair and for a pair the tank is too small :P

why are oscars best kept as a pair? honestly I don't think that is true.

gulpers are always pretty cool fish if u can find them

or just go with some smaller south american cichlids always a good choice

Well that isn't an iron rule for keeping Oscars but from my experience they are more relaxed and less agressive when kept as a harmonizing pair.

my oscar was awesome when he had a mate but for some reason he killed it and is now a wicked b*$%#

African butterfly, leopard ctenopoma, and a couple of senegal bichirs maybe? All of them are piscavores, but the ABF will need smaller fish, or better yet, crickets. I've wanted those three in a tank for the longest time, but I have no more tanks to put them in.

I think Oscars are best kept as pairs too,(either as a male/female or just 2 oscars together)they just seem to be more relaxed and like to interact together. Any cichlid by their self in my opinion is just boring, I think having tank mates gives them personality.

Now to the question. Get some Sevs, the rotkeil ones are great and look damn nice. Their rather calm cichlids but their beauty is wicked nice.
