I just recently got a 75 gallon tank with a 3-4 inch JD waiting to be put into it. What other fish could i put with him. Puffers, Bicir? anything cool besides more JDs

FM's are some good looking fish and they usually dont bother other fish... my FM is living with a red devil so yeah..

i have one with a texas and they get along great

most of the freshwater puffers you see in stores - no. bichirs go great with sa/ca cichlids though.

i had 2 firemouths and 2 jack dempseys in my first tank about 2 years ago.
i grew them all out.
the firemouth was the most dominant.
he grew to about 5.5" and then he was brutally beaten in a tank with cichlids much larger then it,
but anyway, eventually i just had a full grown firemouth and nearly full grown jd
and the firemouth always had to try and dominate.
you have yours with a red devil though, a red devil would beat a firemouth
so i see why it leaves it alone.

to go with a jd i'd say a green terror or an oscar to start off with and maybe in a year or so upgrade you're tank sizes.

well if yout not going to upgrade, you could try panamensis, myrnae, HRPS

is the JD a male of female?

i believe its a male il post a pic later. i am looking for a female of similar size or about 1 inch to pair with my EBJDs

Here are some that I have had luck in a 75 with JD's (not all at once of course)

Chocolate
Cons
GT
female festae
texas
oscar
smaller parachromis like a loiselli or a freddy
Vieja Argentea

I think you have lots of options. JD's are middle of the road as far as aggression goes in my experience.

this guy nailed it althought I wouldn't do a oscar unless you have heavy filtration. You cannot keep a puffer with a jack dempsey. If I were in your shoes I would go with a carpinte or some type of cryptoheroes species like nanoluteus or something.
