new 8 ft tank and 6 ft sump

new sump for my 8 x 2.5 x 2.5 arrived its 6 x 2 x 1.5 and was just wondering wat if it would be ok to fill it up in this order so 1st compartment on each side with bioballs with cotton on top of them then the next two compartments from each side japanese mats and then finally the big compartment on each side filled with ceramic noodles and then the middle is just where the pmp goes. my tank is plumbed with two 2 inch holes in the back which are over flows and a 1 inch hole as a return with a spray bar going along the whole length of the back of the tank

I think ur filtration setup is gonna work just fine. Cant wait to see its progress. Btw, ur gonna throw in so activated carbon as well rite?

umm no apparently activated carbon isnt needed for day to day filtration

tank is finished cycling got my sump filled and my first fish in lucky 8 inch flowerhorn by itself

i would have maybe tried to bag the bio balls and ceramic rings/noodles make it easier if you ever have to wash/rinse them... but yea thats hould work great to filter it out, nice and simple design basically. i would have painted the back of the tank black or put a background on it ot hide the sump pipes and the stirs so at night you dont see it when the tank light is on... thats just my opionion, that flowerhorn isnt 8" lol look how tiny he is in the tank hahaha

Nice tank! I agree with blacking out the back to hide the pipes. Makes a big difference.
