I just got a big flowerhorn for free about 2 days ago. I noticed is poop was white and stringy with dark brown in it. He won't eat but is fully energetic, and loves to rearrange the things in his tank. I've tried live feeders but noticed that he likes to nip at them until they die. He then leaves them alone. What should I do? Should I wait alittle? Please let me know. Thanks

This med cured my fish E.Z. Probably 2 days max for your fish to eat.

idk. Try it. I did. 1 dosage/24 hrs was all it took I remeber

I use paziro and it works like a charm. Takes about a month as hex's life cycle is two-three weeks from egg to mature parasite.

Prazipro is very effective yet possibly the safest thing you could use so it does take a little longer to make sure all the hex is gone. It wont crash your bb in your bio filter like many meds. I've treated a couple fh's for a week and hex always seems to come back. A good 2-3 weeks will ensure it wont come back.

Api general cure is good too. Remember sometimes it can just be stress from a new environment...

First off, don't ever feed your FH live feed. Those fish are kept in the poorest of conditions and almost always carry sickness and disease that will be passed on once ingested. Secondly, FH will poop white when stressed. This is normal. If he continues to fade in color and still won't eat you've got a problem. I've been in the FH game for a little while now and I can tell you don't bother with prazipro. At the top of this section in the stickies, there is an epsom salt solution that you want to use. Even if he isn't sick, I would still suggest feeding. Let your food soak in it and then feed it. Epsom salt has many uses and is one of the best laxatives. If he's not eating, you will need a 1ml syringe to inject the epsom salt in his belly, but that is last resort.
