I am upgrading to a 90g tank from my 45g tank. Right now I have 4 Jack Dempseys (2.5"-3.5") and a common pleco (4") in the 45g. I want to transfer 2 of the JDs and the pleco and add a few more fish. I was just wondering what fish would do alright together.

I really like Red Terrors (Festae), Parachromis friedrichsthalii, Jaguar cichlids, Nimbochromis venustus (giraffe), and pike cichlids.

How would I get any combo of these fish to live together?

Don't add anything. I say upgrade to a 125 ATLEAST to keep all 4 JD's happy. They can grow about 10" long, are aggressive, and a 55 is the minimum for ONE fish. A 45 is WAY too small for two.

Depends on how long you are wanting to keep them in there for.. All the fish you listed are pretty aggressive, minus the venustus, which is an african and has different water requirements if you want it's full potential. As they grow and mature more, which with those listed is atleast a half to an inch a month with proper care, their aggression will get worse if they don't have enough room to get away from eachother and their own special "homes"

and jd's can get 10" long, hell even bigger, but it takes forever..
