Re-decorated my "man room" and decided I wanted to incorporate a Mbuna tank to compliment my African decor.
- 90 gallon acrylic tank from Dream Tanks
- Elite large overflow box from Marine Depot. Acrylic and mounting was super simple. Running Bean animal setup, was easy to dial in using gate valve and pump speed control.
- Wet dry filter poly>course sponge> Bio balls> scrubbies> Bagged lava rock/ bagged ceramic noodles
-Seeded system with sponge, rock, and driftwood from established tank
- DC Marine Aqua return pump. Totally silent and adjustable...love this pump so far.
-2 heaters in return chamber.
- I have 4 little labs in here now, will probably add. 30 or so baby Mbuna this week.

My compliments. Everything looks visually appealing and tightly executed. I admire you guys who set up those complex sumps, pumps and plumbing schemes. That’s too complicated for me. I would have just used a canister filter.

I was 100% a canister guy too till I tried my first sump. No going back for me. Sold all my eheim sand fluval canisters.
