New acquisition: male marble

Made a road trip yesterday & met the seller to pick up a pair of 10" marble motoros. Total of 10 hour trip for the both of us. Moved in bags within a tub, portable pump & airstone. Long story short, the female looked bad when I brought her home, had death curl last night & was dead this morning.

On the bright side, here's pics of the survivor. It's my 1st marble. He's actually about 9" disc size, but with fully developed claspers.

This is my 'big' girl. She's much larger @ over 12" disc size.

Here's some pics of the potential couple. They're in a 240 gallon (8'x2'x2') tank now, but will be moving to a much bigger aquarium soon. Hoping to have pups within 1/2 year. Wish me luck.

Sucks to have a ray die after all of that driving. She looks very skinny in the pic. Probably was on her last leg before you got her. The male looks good.

Good observation. I also noticed she was skinny after she was on the plate. You can see her hip bones protruding in the pic. The male is kinda thin too so I'm pumping him with night crawlers now. He ate 2 in the afternoon & 2 in the evening today so I'm encouraged.

I guess if one fish had to perish, I'd rather it not be the male so I still have a potential pair. Thanks for the compliments. I'm hopeful that he'll provide me w/many future pups. Then, the trip won't be in vain.
