As a result of rearranging fish/aquaria, 2 tanks on the main floor have become my wife's tanks (this is of course out of the goodness of my heart, not a strategic move...). We got some nice fish about a week ago, sharing them here for the first time.
1- A single, very nice Farlowella cf acus twig catfish. I have had Sturisoma and Rineloricaria spp. before, but not Farlowella. About 4 inches total, very skinny (but with a good belly) and cute.
2- Three baby angels, about a quarter in body size: Two are what they refer to as "Daltum angels" (a cross of P. altum and P. scalare), and one is said to be a "Pinoy angel", P. scalare, a mix containing black and blue domestic traits.
I have said before that I don't like hybrids and generally that continues to be so. I guess the "Daltums" changed my mind a bit: These look like wild types, but of course their price is much more affordable that the wild altums, and hopefully less demanding of exacting habitat characteristics. Most importantly, we wanted young ones that will grow together in our tanks. They are my wife's fish anyway and she loved those.
Still in quarantine, for no less than a month total. Cheers!
