I'm quite certain he's a male, was a very dominant fish with his brothers and sisters but at only 2" or so it's hard to be sure. Very energetic and tough to get good photos of, not really happy with any of these.

Tank stocking is complete.

yeah ryan nice fish.
im not banned :-)

you should sell the ones you dont like and get more geos.

cya buddy

Nice fish Japes, gotta love the Geos. Only have the Heckelii(great fish) and a few Surinamensis at the moment. I'm wanting to get some Gymnogeophagus but have never seen them available, do you know if they are in Aus.
cheers

Not sure, there's a bunch of Geophagus available in Australia even though I believe they're not allowed to be imported. No gymnogeophagus that I know of, but in QLD we've got the following that I've seen.

Heckelii, Surinamensis (bunch of strands), Brasiliensis, Steindachneri, Altifrons (couple of types), sp. Rio Branco, Araguaia, Tapajos, Rio Pindare, Brachybranchus, and the occasional/rare Satanoperca jurupari/leucosticta which I'm keeping an eye out for.

I personally don't know much about the Gymnogeophagus, but I know I haven't seen any, but I'm sure theres a type or two available over here.

Nice fish. They look like breeding size. Mine spawned when they were surprisingly small.

I love these little guys. I have 1 male, and he's one of the most entertaining fish to watch. I got him at about the same size as yours, and he already had a prominent hump starting. You should enjoy this one!

The collection looks real nice japes.

Cool beans man, they are some hot Geos!! You should get into Satanoperca if you can!! They are hot for sure!!

Missed a few for sale a couple of weeks ago from a private seller over here. Have never seen them before and probably won't again for a while. I'll pickup a few when I do find them, though.
