So, after a large debate on what to keep with my l066 in the 65 gallon (for the next year and half or so), I came up with the conclusion to grow out a colony of frontosa burundi. Grabbed 7 of them at around 5cm (the largest)

Anyone want to have a go at quality? The parents are imported, the breeder is quite popular.

Currently, housed in a 65 gallon (will be growing them out here for the next year and half or so, by that time my future plans should be well under way after university)

feeding New Life Spectrum Thera -A Regular sinking pellets 1mm formula (will be getting some grown soon)

Hope you like the pics :)

I love Frontosa. They are my wife's favorite fish, maybe second only to Buffaloheads.

Thanks for the input Dave :) Do you know from experience, if a neutral ph of 7-7.5 will keep them fine for a while? I am trying to grow them out with my L066, and plecos prefer a bit lower ph. I normally never had issues with having a 7.0 neutral ph for other fish I have kept.

I kept little guys like that before but didn't have the patience to grow them out and my girlfriend at the time thought they were boring, lol. Good luck with your new fish :-)

The water up here is very hard and alkaline. ph 8.5. I wouldn't worry too much, just keep it consistent. I always started having more problems when I tried to alter the waters chemistry.

I think after the discus bug leaves me, I'll move to frontosas. I love how they look when they're full grown.........
