I'm so excited i just bought 6 red terrors and 6 beanies. Had to pay a pretty penny for the terrors but in the end i think they will be so worth it. (Blue Grass Aquatics finally got another breeding pair) Just wanted some info on how to take care of fish that are about .5 inches long. I've never had any fish this small and i kinda want to get prepared when my other fish start breeding.

The one question i really have is I have to go to work at 7 in the morning and no one can come and feed them until 4 in the afternoon is that too long to wait to feed them?

Any help would be awesome i don't want to lose any of these guys.

They will be fine untill then, pretty basic as far as cichlids go although when they get larger at about 6-9" they can get pretty mean almost overnight unexpectedly. So just keep that in mind with the growout tank specs and guests so GL with them.

^^ Agree Oh yes, they will be fine for food waiting that long. Don't worry.

i have 11 half inch festae fry myself! you really cant even tell what they are right now. i have them growing in a 75g, and amazingly they run to the top to eat flakes, lol its pretty funny...they are a wonderful joy! congrats!

They seem to be doing fine they all run up to get food. I'm feeding them a rotation of small blood worms and brine shrimp. They don't seem to want any floating food so i can't feed them flakes and they are not big enough for even the smallest pellet i have.

Can't wait till they grow up its one of my favorite species of fish and I've been looking for 8 months to find some.
