i just bout 3 cute lil clown loaches for my 12 gallon planted until they get to big then i will move them into another larger tank. I've heard they will eat the snails i have in my tank. Will they? Also how big do they get and how long does it take?

I hope this is a joke.

Clown loaches get pretty big, at least 12", but they are relatively slow growers. They will eat snails.

was that comment needed? i was trying to get some infomation and i dont need negative comments

I'm sorry I just beleive people should do some research before they make a purchase. You either need to get your clown loaches a 55-75 gallon aquarium very soon or take them back. Clown loaches quickly grow to over 4 inches in about a year. Keeping them in an aquarium that small is will result in stunting.

yes but you dont know the whole story. I've seen them max out at 7inches and up to 15 i was just wondering the average and i just bought them to get rid of the snails in my tank i know i will need to give them a bigger tank but a year is pretty long

You will not be able to keep them in an aquarium that size for more than a month or so without causing permanent damage. Just so you know a 75 gallon is recommended as a starter tank for clown loaches. As they grow they should eventually be housed in a 180 gallon or larger aquarium.

what kind of permanent damage? And i know i wont be able to keep them in there for long i mean i maybe be just 13 but i know better than to keep them in there for up to a year. And i know i will need a large tank for them. The only reason i made this thread was to ask for information and not and negative ones.
