Thanks, all.

RD, you are the main reason I decided to take him in. If it takes 5 years to hit 15", that's great because that's also the time line for buying our house and finally doing the 1000 gallon tank. That should keep me happy for at least a good ten years. :D He's already grown a lot on mixed pellets and asparagus.

I will update as he adds spots to his pectoral rays. He's about to sprout the fourth dot. So soon, so soon.
thats wonderful ... i am so happy that you got him.. you will just love him... glad he is eating so well and fitting in already..

Yep. After my first one died of bloat I made an oath to get another one day. Even if I have to get rid of a lot of my striped raphs, that's okay. He's such a little clown it's worth it all the way.

Fourth dot! It's a little pale and the photos barely capture it, but he has a lot of fresh growth and new dot at the end of his pectoral fins!

I wonder if yours is behaving that way based on tankmates. Mine is with some docile fish (Angels, Jurupari, livebearers) and a few aggressive bottom fish (chinese algae eaters, three of them). Perhaps the combo is right to encourage feeding aggression? Don't know. This adonis is like an exact replica of my first one, down to the last twitch. I do wonder whether or not they are terribly variable in character as a species. Perhaps you could try rearranging the tank? Do you leave food on a rock for him? If he has more reasons to be out in the open, perhaps he will be more likely to be found there. Just brainstorming, here...

looking great!!!

it is fun to document the growth of fish.

Thanks, valderi123. It won't be much longer before dot 5 and some new pics. His tail extensions are extremely long now and growing rapidly.
