Got him on 9-07-10, so a little over three months. Man, he can chew through a piece of zucchini like nothing! I do my best to always have food available for him but I got busy this week with my new externship so it's algae wafers at bedtime for these few days. He's so mean, he waits for the CAE to get within range and then slices him as hard as he can with his pectoral fins. It's pretty comical.

lol cool, ya i was gonna ask about how mean he is, heard they can be, mine isnt yet, but he has a good spot to chill, but only time will tell. ill take some pics soon

does the cae get injured or anything ? wondering those spikes can really do any damage.

Congratz on a beautiful pick up, I just brought home an albino adonis, two weeks ago, happy, happy, joy, joy!

Had a black adonis years ago, housed in a 125g with L25, L24, and two royal plecs.

When the adonis reached 12" (6.5" body, 5.5" tail) he terrorized the other plecos, all similar sizes and I had to get rid of him.

Nothing noticeable on the CAE as far as scratches, but it does show on the angelfish a little.

Yeah, they pretty much just turn into anger machines. It's awesome. Too bad you had to get rid of yours. Must have been a really tough decision on which to keep.

When I purchased him at 3-4" he was a fully spotted beauty and I did not know they lose their spots. At the 12" mark there where just a few spots left at the tail end, and at the time I was so dissapointed with the lack of spots, it was an easy decision.

Now with the albino adonis I'm prepared to keep him even if I have to get rid of the other plecos, want to grow him into a showpiece, and keeping him till the end, his or mine, along with my asian arowana.

I rubberband mine to a rock. Most fish won't eat it right away. Just remove it if it starts looking fuzzy and put in a new piece. Usually within a week somebody will start chewing on it. What kind of plecos do you have?

1. Some people stick a fork or knife into the zuchinni to make it sink, or use a weighted clip. I prefer blanching my zuchinni. My plecs seem to prefer blanched over raw, though raw is more nutritous.

2. Keep trying. Also, you can may try using some garlic extract on the zuchinni, or you can stick some pellets/sticks into the zuchinni. They will go fot he pellets/sticks, and hopefully discover the zuchinni.
