hello all i'm new to posting here at mfk been trolling for awhile and i've been keeping fish for around 14 years. with that out of the way i'm changing my 220 from south american to african i've had alot of luck with my 75 keeping africans so i'm upgrading in size for em. the question i'll throw out is. tommorrow i'll be goin to the atlantis fish hatchery here in new york to get my collection started and i'd like an idea what you guys might start with to populate my tank from the list they provide. should be alot of fun http://cichlids.net/

thanks
chris

well peacock tanks are a pretty safe bet and if done right you cant beat them but if originality is what you are looking for don't do peacocks, you cold also try a mix of mabuna, there are countless species out there so you can just pick the most vibrant of them, there are a few species of geophagus (eartheaters) that can be unstoppable, and finally there are Haps. i honestly don't know a lot about them but they can be stunning

I'd do a Tanganykian tank!

Your flamebacks will not do well with that list of tank mates. I would go with nyererie or sp.44's instead if you want another Vic. Your other Vic selection will be just fine.

i hear ya on the flamebacks hopefully they will hide out enough! if not i can switch em over to my 75. they really are immpressive ill post some pics as soon as they get settled in
