In pet smart tonight getting crickets for my son. I don't usually buy fish from there but I was surprised to see two little 3" albino Senegal's in a tank. Its been years since I had a bichir and never see them locally. That wanted $15.99 so I figured with! We have an empty 29 for it to grow out in and then he can go to the 90 or 125. Oh yeah best part is it only rang up $2.00!!

Nice deal haha put some pics up soon so we can see the little guy

He's hiding in a fake log bow with lights out but already ate some blood worms. Will they eat flakes?

With my grow outs I offer frozen bloodworms, sm.shrimp pellets, sm. Pieces of talapia. I've seen my Senegal sniff flakes, but really was'nt interested as far as eating the flakes:)

Thanks. The last one I owned was a big ornate . Probably 17 years ago. Of course back then all he got was goldfish! Poor thing

I'd stick to frozen food and pellet over flake as others have said. I've had Senegal's that have taken it but only after it being the only thing available when I was a beginner. Your plan will do just fine, long as water quality is good they can live for quite a while in a 30
