Hi,

As mentioned in this thread
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=374652
I am starting a new Dat tank.

The specs of the tanks are as follow:

size: 4x2x2´ (120x60x60 cms)
filtration: eheim 2250 for biological; sunsun 304b for mechanical
circulation: 2 x Seio 888 g/h (3200 lts/h)
heating: 2 x 300w
lighting: 2 x AquaRay ProBeam 500 leds managed by an Aqua Ray control
substract: 50kgs white sand; 10kgs black sand
decor: a large DW and a few stones/rocks
plants: valisnerias (waiting for some more), java moss and a anubia

Once totally cycled, this tank wild hold 8 small IT´s (3 with 4"; 5 with 2-3"), a 4" flagtail and a galaxy pleco . The fish are at a friend´s place atm.

Now, the pics:

the living-room area where the tank sits ( I already had the wallpaper that - now - makes a nice background)

I really like this gadget. It allows to recreate sunset and sundow (I set it to take 2hrs until the leds are full power and 2 hrs to shut down) and the intensity of the leds may be set from 1% to 100%. This will be helpful to acclimate the dats. I´ll probably set the leds to 20-30% of their intensity in the first weeks and (eventually) increase afterwards.

Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank Miguel for all the help and advise.

I will update the thread later on

Take care
Joao

Great shots of the tank, João!!

That DW is fantastic! I think the little Dat's will love it in there.

I will have to get me one of those Led controlling devices. Dats really feel happier ( at least mine do ) with a less intense lighting.

Thank you, good people.

Now, I juts have to wait for the tank to mature and finally... put my dats in there!

That's a beautiful tank and sitting area.I'll have to try real plants some day.
