The last attempt at this thread went off in a unsavory tanget.....I am getting a complete 180 gallon setup tomorrow AM!! I have been preparing all week. I reinforced the floor under the tank last night with a 13,000 lb floor jack. I picked up a monster pc of mangrove for decor. I have 150lbs of pool filter sand which I mix with black lava sant 10 to one to darken it up a bit.......All set except the hard part. Getting the tank up into my house on a hill.
Here are some pics of the wood which is in my Koi pond trying to sink......the tank and stand from previous owner. I am not getting the fish in the tank. The system includes 15 month old tank and stand, wavemaker, new fx6, heater, lights and lids. Very excited to have a tank in my living room! Got rid of my TV stand and hung the 55" incher on the wall.
I will post more pics and details tomorrow as I am able.....I need to work tomorrow afternoon so I probably will not get completely set up until tomorrow night or monday. Sand to rinse, need to level the tank..... and I plan on swapping media with my established FX5 and add sand and wood from my 120 to jump start cycling the tank. With light stocking intially i doubt I will see any ammonia spike at all. As I add fish I plan on a second cannister.
