I'm new here and I have a 35 gallon hex tank waiting to be stocked. My sister had it and didn't want it any more so now it's mine and I don't know what to do with it. I'm thinking I want to put some bronze corydoras for the bottom and maybe a few loaches. I don't know what I'm gonna put in the middle yet or the top. I'm pretty new at this but luckily my sister is a pro when it comes to most things fish related. I'm just lookin for some ideas of what to put in my tank since it's deeper then it is long.

just your average smaller community type fish.

maybe like a breeding pair of rams and a bushy nose pleco. or mollies and what not.

welcome to MFK... maybe some angels would be nice... take your time investigating.. be patient so you learn everything about the species now so there will be no surprises later... and you will get what you really like... nice to meet you.. if you have any questions just let me know..:)

Yeah any one of your colorful peaceful guys. Mollies,Platies,Fancytail guppies, swordtails etc. Or if you like cichlids, which have more personality you can get some apistogammas, blue acara's jewel cichlids dont get that big either. If you go to ur local LFS stay away from the baby oscars. I know they are cute but they turn into big eating machines. One year you can have a 10in beast. that means you need at least a 75g. Good luck

OP is my sister, I'm the one who gave her the tank.

Since I gave her an angelfish to start her off I think the cories (three) and some kuhli loaches (three) would be good for the bottom.

I figured maybe some hatchets for the top and larger size tetras like black skirts to round things out.

BTW, sis, I'm by no means an "expert"! LOL! Take a look around this site, you'll see some real fish experts here!

I have some rainbow fish and a Roseline shark in my 29 gal. They are all very colorful fish that swim constantly.
