Great pick-up! Looks like you don't need to wean it off live food as is sometimes required with these fish, nice. Love how it backs up back into it's cave, my c. fowleri does the same by using her ventral fins mostly. In case you didn't know, these fish sometimes like to rest on their sides or even on their back upside down so don't be alarmed if you see that, just normal behavior for them. Thanks for the feedback. I had one of these over a decade ago and never noticed that. I have seen a lot of these that hang out in the open and or positioned vertical on the glass, which I do find odd.
One trait I do remember from mine was a ridiculous appetite and mine was quite territorial. Hoping this guy plays nice. Eventual enclosure will be a 10x4 with some other medium sized cats.
