hi, I have some spare of 8mm glass, and I am planning to use it to build a tank for my bichirs, what is the maximum size I could get with that glass?
I was thinking 180x90x45 cm, what do you guys think?
the whole tank will be made of glass,
pls help

ok, here is what I've got today, I got the glass with dimension :
180 cm x 90 cm for the foot print (10 mm)
180 cm x 45 cm for both sides length (8 mm), and
90 cm x 45 cm for both sides width (8mm),

I picked up this dimension from the DIY tank forum (thanks to the glass thickness calculator), which would give me almost 200 galls,
I could not get anything more than 8mm cause it costs me too much, (those glass are spare glass at my work, just hv to buy a bit more)
so anyway I would probably keep bigger bichirs in that tank, which are 3 endlis and 3 ornates only, the rest I would keep in the 100 galls (sens, longfinned, and albinos)
well I hope it would work just fine, what do you guys think?
I'll post pics when materials are ready, but in the mean while, here is what I hv in mind,

what a bump...????????????????????

Start building already :screwy:

it should work for the endli's and ornates. would have been nice to go 8'x3' (~243cm x 90 cm) since you're making it custom anyway, but iy'll work. The stand in your illustration looks awesome! Using metal instead of wood for the stand?

Also if you havent already i'd look at the diy wet/dry plans on MFK and work that into the plans. Six potentially 60cm+ bichirs is a fairly heavy bioload and filtration is your friend :D Should be an awesome project and I look forward to updates
