Hello everyone as the title says I am going to be purchasing a new aquarium. Dimensions will be 6 ft long, 36" wide and 24" tall (biggest I can get to the basement). I have it narrowed down to truvu, fish tanks direct and glass cages. Leaning towards acrylic due to the logistics of the almost 500lb glass tank lol. Although I would not be against it either. This would be my first acrylic and was looking for advice on the two acrylic manufacturers? Thickness appears to be 1/2" for both unless I opt for the upgrade in thickness through truvu. Thanks in advance.

The canopy is hanging on by a thread. If I balance it right in the middle, there's about a millimeter clearance on each side. I'm afraid it's going to fall down.
The tank doesn't sit right on the stand either. As you can see, it's not even on the lip of the stand at all on one side. If I push it toward the middle it might help, but still it's obviously not right.
Then they mailed me a board to put under the tank. I guess I'm supposed to drill holes in this plywood board for my sump? This seems like bullshit.

Oh wow I somehow missed that thread thanks HarleyK for bringing that to my attention! I will add that I never received a response from the ftd custom department when emailed. Truvu and glass cages have been super quick to respond to any and all emails as well as quotes on a couple different aquarium sizes. You have helped my decision more than you know lol.
Jake used to be their sales person, the emails may be getting sent to an old address... i attached a current one...
i don't know about tru vu, they have that size? there is also american aquariums.... i had 3 made by a local guy that ships that i would not recommend, however they look better than the FTD product.... twice as much tho...
acrylic is gonna get scratched and glass is heavy and will fail

That would make sense about their sales for sure. Truvu does not have a standard in that size but they can make it custom. Thanks for the tip on American aquariums, another member suggested I check them out as well! I also was told to checkout Midwest customs. So many choices just trying to do it right and only once lol. Whoever I buy this one from and it goes good, the plan will be get a 7x2x2 later to completely fill a 13' 6" basement wall.
