HONORURU, HAWAII!
Aloha everyone!

Well, after the passing of my jardini (forgot to update my other thread...)ive been enlightened to now raise 2 at once, but of course in different tanks.

i plan to get 2 juveniles and raise on in my 85g (pinker colored) and one in my 90g (darker one) i will keep these tanks next to each other so the fish will be raised in a light-dark yin/yang kind of deal. their upbringing will be identical other than the color of their tank/gravel...in an effort to get that color effect. the colorful jardini thread does shed a whole bunch of light on the matter...

filtration has been addressed in the setup and filtration section here on MFK, please check it out!

...any thoughts on my little idea so far?
these tanks should be sufficient for some years, and by that time i plan to have a couple of 125's ready for them.

they won't have any tankmates.
i was thinking about putting my royal pleco with one, since its about 6inches now...but i want the arowana's to have the most swimming area as possible. the plec can be raised in my 55.

Mahalo!
Im still in the planning stage, and dont see any purchasing going to happen until i have definite decisions on filtration...

also! what gravel color would you use to promote pink coloring in the light-colored jardini? pink? or white? the other one will have a black painted back-of-tank and black gravel...

I've not thought or heard about this before, but it sounds like an interesting concept. I don't think the plec will be an issue in either the 85/90g tank though.

Adding the pleco to one and not the other
adds a new variable to your experiment and
will void any results you hope to gain from
the gravel variable.

he would be fine, but don't spoil your experiment.

I decided i can't serve two masters, and will be saving for a 125 to get ONE jardini...and it shall be a beast!
