I just got him so it could be stress. I got him hole sale :) he is only 4 inches, was $15. He is in a 15 gallon tank at work right now with the fire eel.
Can I keep them together or think that will end bad?

what size can I keep him in a 15 gallon for? Another 2 inches?

(donte flip out and say I need a bigger tank and all them jazz. I understand how big they get. but he needs to grow and his new home is not ready yet. )

Well in my experience, with arows goes back to my father who had many. I have had 3 and they always never ate when they were stressed and I'm guessing it's due to its small temporary home. I kept my first arow that was 5 inches in a 20 gallon and he ate once in 2weeks. He also was very skiddish until he was moved to the 55 and he ate a but load and was moved to his 75 not too long after and then my friend bought him before I was gonna upgrade

You did not say what kind of arow, I figure it is a silver, try crickets, live small, 4 inches does he still have egg sac. If so he does not need to eat, but still try crickets, best to get them looking on top of water and put something in tank for him to hide and relax in. Plants floating live or plastic. I found that a 15 is still very small even for babies, i started mine in a 55 from day 1, it was not to big and they love to be ale to swim.

I tried kill amd small feeders to no luck. I will do blood worms and crickets tomorrow. And sorry it is a silver. His next temp home should be here in 2-3 weeks. Its a 90 gallon. And after that is a 300 gallon round pond. Then I hope to have his final home done by then.

Not one said if he is ok with them fire eel?

my large silver is with my large fire eel. They'll be fine.

edit: as long as the fire eel isn't significantly smaller than the silver. If so, there's always a risk of it getting eaten.

as long as it can't eaten the eel, it shouldn't be a problem..the two fish probably will end up not interacting much considering their vastly different lifestyles.

To let you know get your aro in a bigger tank he will calm down mine is in a 55 right now because my clown kknife will eat him without a thought. Now after a week I come up to the tank and me and him have stareing contest. Try to get the bigger tank alot sooner. They grow so freaking fast. I didn't even know how fast they grew until I read a thread a little while ago and now I am fast tracking my 700 build. I don't mean to sound like one of the jerks but it is what it is. I'm actualy thinking about a pond waterfall build in my front room. It would look realy cool.

Unfortunately I can get them bigger tank any sooner. I was not expecting one to be at them hole sale place. I could not pass one them price. its only been 2 days so I guess I will just keep tying new foods. And hope he eats something.
