i recently set up a 180 gallon tank with 2 2.5-3 inch oscars and a 6-7inch silver arowana and one of the oscar developed ich, are oscars and arowanas too sensitive for me to use aquarium salt a a treatment? and will aquarium salt kill my 'onion' plant

(also, the tank should be fully cycled as we left the filter filled with water and the original sponges etc... same with the gravel)

^what exactly do you mean?

the tank was set up and running when i bought it, so the people i bought it from had to drain it for us to move it, so they just left the filter filled with water to keep the bacteria alive.

even after that move you might want to feed lightly for a while.

As far as the salt treatment goes, I don't know about the plant, but I've never had an issue using it with Oscars and Arowanas.

ok, i just heard oscars were sensitive to salt, and i wanted to make sure with the aro cause i paid $70, and thats pretty cheap for were i live, usually u pay that much for a 2-3 incher

heres a pic of the little guy

Don't mess around and start treating the tank right away. I use CopperSafe but there are other cures. Salt and higher temps might work but I know copper and high temps cures.
